When Time Based Arts approached me with a graphic heavy promo job for the BBC working with Director Caswell Coggins, I bit their hand off. Even more than usual due to tight schedule and creative license to bring the onions.
Using 3 shot scenarios depicting 3 of the documentary’s darkest subjects, the spots were to include real life social responses to the difficult questions raised in the programmes. ‘Should dangerous dogs be destroyed?’, ‘Would you become a machine?’ and ‘Could you forgive your mothers murderer?’. We decided on a very digital approach to typography within the questions and the tweets / comments which would glitch in and out to reflect the dark mood of the shots and subject matter
