…Under Difficult Circumstances.

Up-and-coming director and good friend Tom Oswald asked me to title his latest independent film. The brief was based around a casting environment, and Tom had cut the sequence in a choppy musical style. We chose a very simple type treatment based of casting sheets and notes. The edit was very quick and I wanted to complement that in the typography and wipes. The overall treatment was not to let the type dominate the piece as the performance was strong, and let the actors interact with the words in some way, as well as representing the rejection process.
